Judith Gail Stodolak, age 80, of New Castle passed away the evening of June 5, 2023, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born Sept. 3, 1942, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Lincoln R. and Eulene J. (Wheeler) Shope. On Aug. 30, 1977, she married her husband of 45 years, Paul Stodolak. He survives at home. Judith was a 1960 graduate of New Castle High School. For 35 years, she worked as a teacher's aide at Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV, until her retirement. Judith loved sewing and riding her horse, "Frank." She loved spending time with her dogs, cats and her family. Judith was a member of First United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, Judith is survived by one daughter, Kimberly (Tony Davis) Evans of New Castle, Pennsylvania; one son, Jack M. (Gina) French III of Williamsburg, Virginia; one brother, William Shope of Dearborn, Michigan; two grandchildren, Samantha (Jason) Wess and Anthony Davis; two great-grandchildren, Shailah Hilton and Sophia Wess; and one great-great-grandson, Davonte Brown. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Castleview cemetery. Online condolences may be offered to the family by visiting www.cunninghmafh.com.

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
